A former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Kehinde Subair is dead.
REPUBLICAN NIGERIA reports that Subair passed away in the United Kingdom just seven days before his 60th birthday.
Subair was a two-term member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and served as the Majority Leader of the House during the second term of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, former Governor of Oyo State.
The cause of his death has not been announced as at the time of filing this report.
The death was confirmed on Friday by the Senator representing Oyo Central in the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Yunus Akintunde.
In a statement made available to the media by Kunle Olatunji, Special Assistant on Media to Senator Akintunde, he described the death of the former lawmaker as a great loss to the All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Oyo State and the entire nation.
He said, “I was greatly overwhelmed with grief early today to hear about the demise of Hon Kehinde Subair, my very close associate and friend, a notable stakeholder within the Oyo State political landscape”.
“His sudden departure has left a great vacuum quite difficult to fill and his impactful leadership and peaceful disposition at all times will be sorely missed”.
“My heartfelt condolences and deep sympathy is extended to the family he left behind, the good people of Oyo State whom he served diligently and the entire Progressives family of our great Party APC”.
“He has been of tremendous influence in his commitment and participation in the repositioning agenda of our Party in recent times and his good, kindhearted, benevolent nature, peaceful disposition will be sorely missed”.
“May Almighty Allah grant him Aljannah Fridaus and the rest of us the fortitude to bear the loss of his passage”.
