The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has declared that no fewer than five hundred shops were affected by the fire incident that ravaged Aleshinloye Market.
NEMA Zonal Coordinator, Mr Kadiri Olanrewaju, made this declaration via a statement on Thursday.
Olanrewaju, in the statement, said: “Over 500 shops and stalls were destroyed. Initial assessments estimate financial losses in the hundreds of millions of naira.
“Many traders had recently restocked their businesses, worsening their financial burden.
“The fire has severely disrupted economic activities, impacting both traders and supply chains.
“No fatalities were recorded. However, several individuals sustained minor injuries from smoke inhalation and shock while attempting to salvage their goods.”
